Shore Antique Center

"Where the Dealers Shop" Open Daily 11 am to 5 pm

Chris & Rose Myer have more than 60 years of combined experience in the field of antiques and fine art.  They warmly welcome you to discover the culmination of all their love for the business - displayed in a most enjoyable spectacle they like to call: The SHORE ANTIQUE CENTER.

After 18 years in Point Pleasant Beach, Shore Antique Center has moved to historic Allenhurst, New Jersey.  The new location is a 14,000-square-foot renovated warehouse located at 413 Allen Avenue.   Chris Myer, founder and proprietor of Shore Antique Center, and his wife, Rose O'Connor-Myer, purchased the building in November 2007 and have done extensive renovations to the former plumbing supply warehouse.

The building features wide open spaces, abundant natural light from original skylights, and hardwood floors. There are three overhead doors and loading docks located on various sides of the building for easy access to move larger pieces in and out.   Additionally, home delivery is available.

Shore Antique Center features more than 40 merchants with a wide variety of antiques, art, home furnishings, and other items of collectible interest. Some of the exhibitors and vendors come from the former Point Pleasant Beach location (including: Glenn Hart, Glenn Vogel, Barbara Booz, Cress Vail) . Others are new, including Laurie Smith who features Vintage Fashion, Lori Zimmermann  (www.lots-of-lots.com) who specializes in historical paper including post cards & travel ephemera, Fred Davies who offers a vast collection of Sports Memorabilia, and Ken Jakupko who sells antique jewelry, art, lighting & unique objects from around the world (www.kensantiques.com).

The Myers manage the center in addition to operating their own amazing array of fine art, furniture and collectibles. Rose O'Connor-Myer is president of Art Research Associates, a fine art appraisal service for paintings, sculpture, and prints of all periods.  Chris and Rose offer periodic free appraisal clinics at the center that are announced through their client (e)mailing list and through this web site.

We have been voted the "BEST OF THE BEST" Antique Shopping in Monmouth County, New Jersey in 2009, 2010, 2011 in the Asbury Park Press.  We are proud members of the Greater Ocean Township Chamber of Commerce  (www.gotcc.org) and the Asbury Park Chamber (www.asburyparkchamber.com).  Rose sits on the Executive Committee for the Ocean Township organization.

The borough of Allenhurst is known for its Victorian homes, restaurants, and quaint downtown that is easy to shop and stroll.  Some of the retail shops are:  Spellbinders Surf Shop, DaniRisi Fashionable Accessories, KiKi's Spa & Salon and Allenhurst Flower Shop.   Eateries include: Carmine's Italian Restaurant, McGillicuddy's, Cravings Bakery, Serpico's, Et Al Fine Foods and Back to Nature.

Allenhurst is a less than a mile from the exciting music scene and newly revived boardwalk of Asbury Park.  It also enjoys it's own NJ Coastline Train Station making trips from Bay Head or New York City very convenient.  Shore Antique Center has plenty of free parking and is located one block from the train station and just three blocks from the beach. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

People love the relaxed clean inviting atmosphere.  Our local "in house" DJ: Chris Myer plays a fabulous selection of tunes from his massive music collection and refreshments are often served on weekends and holidays!  We accept most major credit cards, have handicap accessibility and offer discounts to the trade.   Located about an hour south of NYC AND well worth a trip from almost anywhere!
